What to Expect in a Session With Me
My approach as a therapist is person-centered and trauma-informed. I believe that people can heal and grow in the context of a safe, nurturing relationship and that building trust and rapport is one of the most important parts of therapy. Our early counseling sessions will focus on creating a caring, supportive and non-judgmental space for you to process your emotions and life experiences. From there, we’ll collaborate in setting goals for therapy and talk about what you hope to gain from our time together.
As a therapist, I am most passionate about helping clients get to the root of present-day issues and empowering people to access their inner resources and innate ability to heal. I have training in parts work and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and also use interventions from DBT, mindfulness, polyvagal theory and attachment-based therapy.
I am so grateful to have had the privilege of walking alongside individuals navigating trauma, disability, grief, neurodivergence and more. No matter where you are on your counseling journey, I look forward to working with you!
A Little About Me
I have always been a person with many different interests who loves learning new things. I come from a family of helping professionals and worked for several years as a medical assistant in various healthcare settings. I am a big reader and also love drawing and art journaling. I earned my B.A. in linguistics and have spent years tutoring and mentoring in academic spaces where I’ve cherished the opportunity to learn and grow with my clients. Through it all, I’ve been continuously amazed by people’s resilience, courage and creativity. I’m excited to meet you and begin our work together!
