What to Expect in a Session With Me
In our sessions together, I strive to create a space where you feel deeply understood and valued. Drawing from a person-in-environment perspective, I aim to understand not just your individual experiences, but also the broader context in which you live and interact. Through empathetic listening, motivational interviewing, and a commitment to meeting you where you are, my goal is to support you in exploring your inner world and facilitating meaningful change. I believe in the power of creative expression as a tool for healing. Intertwining art-based interventions into the therapeutic process, we can explore emotions, experiences, and perspectives in a non-verbal and often transformative way. Whether through painting, drawing, or other forms of artistic expression, we'll tap into your innate creativity to deepen our understanding and promote growth. Rather than rushing into difficult subjects, I aim to provide a safe and nurturing environment where you can gradually open up at your own pace. I aim to work as a team to set goals that honor your growth and progress and celebrate each step forward along the way. Regardless of the challenges you're facing, know that your thoughts and feelings are always valued here. I'm here to collaborate with you, offering support and guidance as we navigate life's adversities together, towards a brighter future.
A Little About Me
I hold a Master's of Social Work degree from Virginia Commonwealth University, where I developed a deep understanding of human behavior and the complexities of interpersonal relationships. I find solace and inspiration in the simple joys of gardening, reading a good book, or going on long walks. I am passionate about fostering culturally sensitive and inclusive spaces in therapy, ensuring that every individual's unique background and experiences are honored and respected. I am an artist as well and enjoy working on paintings that provide creative fulfillment in my life. Art also connects with my therapeutic approach, emphasizing the importance of growth, self-expression, and holistic well-being.
