What to Expect in a Session With Me
I have experience providing holistic, trauma-informed, and gender-affirming care to children, adolescents, and adults with co-occurring medical and psychiatric issues. I work closely with clients to understand their concerns and develop a personalized plan. I use a range of treatment approaches, including brief therapy, behavioral change techniques, mindfulness, nutrition, prescription medication, and supplements to address mental health concerns. Intakes are typically 60-75 minutes and follow up visits vary from 20-45 minutes, depending on needs.

A Little About Me
I’m originally from Texas and moved to Virginia in 2007 with my husband, Jim. Here, we’re raising our son along with our cat, Mittens, and our mini–Irish Doodle, Finnick. I enjoy art, hiking, politics, reading, travel, and yoga, and consider myself as a lifelong learner—always finding new things to explore.
My career started with a Bachelor’s in Business from Southwestern University and a Master’s in Art History from Texas Christian University. But my interest in healthcare eventually led me to a “second career” in nursing. Once in Virginia, I earned my Associate of Applied Science from Reynolds Community College, then a Bachelor and Master of Science from Virginia Commonwealth University, and later, a Post-Master’s Certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from Frontier Nursing University. Today, I’m a dual ANCC Board-certified Family and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I have a holistic approach to health, focusing on each person’s unique needs and treatment goals.
